Trondheim
30 October - 5 November 2021
As the Woven Network Nordics is a fully digital residency, the Trondheim Research Week proposed the opportunity to meet physically at the generous invitation of the project’s partner organisations, Transform Festival and Brynhild Bye-Tiller.
As a digital hub, Trondheim provided multivalent possibilities for engagement with artists, artist-run spaces, galleries, arts museums, cultural organisations and potentiality to connect with a culturally diverse public through Transform Festival and its broad network of contacts.
The Research travel opened potentialities for discourse, collaboration, network-building and created a safe space of support and solidarity, to reflect on the key roles of female artists in the Nordics, Europe and International contexts, against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Research travel was made possible by Nordic Culture Point, individual Mobility Funding, and documentation of the trip fell into two categories, Trondheim Topographies, of meetings, workshops, people and landscapes, and Fieldwork Futures which will be the foundation for forthcoming artworks, sculptures and films.
